The journey
The plan barely survived the first day, and that turned out to be the point.
Mornings in Old Manali were for chai and wrong turns. Afternoons for Solang when the weather held, and Hadimba when it did not. We kept the days unhurried and the budget honest.
Food did most of the storytelling: siddu from a roadside stall, river trout that was worth the wait, and one bakery that somehow remembered our order on day three.
Would I go again? In a heartbeat — maybe with one less bag and one more empty afternoon.
