Escape to Shimla for a refreshing mountain holiday filled with colonial architecture, forested hills, local markets and beautiful Himalayan views. Explore The Ridge and Mall Road, visit Jakhoo Temple and travel to Kufri for a day surrounded by pine forests and mountain scenery. These are among the hill station’s best-known attractions, according to Himachal Tourism.
Day 1 – Arrival and Mall Road: Arrive in Shimla, check in and relax. In the evening, walk along Mall Road and explore The Ridge, Christ Church, Scandal Point and Lakkar Bazaar.
Day 2 – Kufri and Mashobra: Travel to Kufri and visit its scenic viewpoints. Continue towards the Himalayan Nature Park and Mashobra before returning to Shimla in the evening.
Day 3 – Shimla sightseeing: Visit Jakhoo Temple, Viceregal Lodge, the Himachal State Museum and Annandale. Spend your final evening shopping, exploring cafés or watching the sunset from The Ridge.
Day 4 – Departure: Check out after breakfast and continue your onward journey. Travellers can optionally experience the UNESCO-listed Kalka–Shimla Railway, subject to ticket and train availability. UNESCO recognises it as part of the Mountain Railways of India.
