The journey
Our 3-day trip to Manali was exactly what we needed—a break from our busy schedules and a chance to spend quality time together. After weeks of saying "Let's plan a trip," we finally made it happen. Early in the morning, we packed our bags, started our journey, and set off towards the beautiful mountains of Himachal.
The drive to Manali was an adventure on its own. As we got closer to the hills, the weather became cooler, the roads more scenic, and every few kilometres someone would shout, "Stop the car, this view is amazing!" We ended up taking far more breaks than planned, but every stop was worth it.
After checking into our hotel, we wasted no time exploring Mall Road. We walked through local shops, tried hot momos and Maggi, enjoyed cups of coffee, and spent the evening simply enjoying the lively atmosphere. Of course, no friends' trip is complete without bargaining in the markets, even for things we never planned to buy.
The next day was packed with adventure. We visited Solang Valley, where some of us tried adventure activities while others were happy just enjoying the mountain views. Watching everyone encourage each other—and then laughing when someone got nervous at the last moment—became one of the funniest parts of the day.
One unforgettable moment happened while we were trying to take a group selfie in the mountains. Just as everyone finally smiled together, one friend accidentally dropped his cap into the river below. We spent the next ten minutes trying to figure out whether to rescue the cap or simply accept that the mountains had claimed it. The cap stayed there, but the story stayed with us.
In the evening, we gathered at a small café, ordered way more food than we could finish, and spent hours talking about everything from school memories to future travel plans. It was one of those nights where nobody wanted to look at their phone because the conversations were too good to miss.
Before leaving Manali, we visited Hadimba Temple and spent some quiet time surrounded by tall deodar trees. It was the perfect way to end the trip before beginning our journey home.
Although the trip lasted only three days, it gave us unforgettable mountain views, scenic drives, endless laughter, and memories that still make us smile. Manali wasn't just another destination—it became one of those trips we'll keep talking about every time we meet.
