The journey
Our 3-day trip to Munnar was supposed to be all about misty mountains, tea gardens, waterfalls, and peaceful views. But with Kapil, Kunal, Ashish, and Priyanshu together, the trip quickly turned into a mix of beautiful sightseeing, nonstop jokes, unexpected plans, and some unforgettable pool moments.
We reached Munnar excited to explore the hills and checked into a hotel that had a swimming pool. At first, we thought the pool would only be a small part of the trip—a quick swim after sightseeing. We were completely wrong.
The next morning, we woke up with a full plan to explore Munnar. We had discussed tea gardens, viewpoints, waterfalls, and all the places we wanted to visit. But somehow, one person suggested going to the pool “for just half an hour.” That half hour slowly turned into three to four hours.
For those few hours, we completely forgot that we had travelled all the way to Munnar. The mountains, tea gardens, and sightseeing plans were nowhere in our minds. We were busy playing in the pool, splashing water, challenging each other to races, and laughing at everyone’s failed attempts to look like professional swimmers. By the time we finally came out, we were tired, hungry, and wondering how an entire morning had disappeared.
The funniest part was that we had travelled to one of the most beautiful hill stations in India, but our longest activity turned out to be swimming in a hotel pool. We kept saying, “We can explore Munnar tomorrow,” even though our trip was only for three days. That became our favourite joke for the rest of the journey.
After finally getting ready, we explored Munnar’s beautiful tea gardens and scenic roads. The green hills, cool weather, and misty views made us realise why the place is so popular. We visited viewpoints, stopped for photographs, and enjoyed the fresh mountain air. Of course, taking one good group photo was almost impossible because someone was always blinking, laughing, looking in the wrong direction, or making a funny face.
We also visited waterfalls and spent time exploring the local side of Munnar. The scenic drives were full of music, jokes, and arguments over who controlled the playlist. Every small stop became an excuse to take photos, eat snacks, or make fun of each other.
The evenings were just as memorable. After returning to the hotel, we sat together, shared stories, laughed about the day, and planned the next morning—although we were no longer sure whether we would follow the plan or end up in the pool again.
Our Munnar trip gave us beautiful views, fresh air, peaceful tea gardens, and plenty of photographs. But the memories we will remember most are the funny ones—the morning we forgot why we had come to Munnar, the three to four hours spent playing in the swimming pool, the endless jokes, and the moments when even simple things became entertaining because we were together.
It was only a 3-day trip, but with Kapil, Kunal, Ashish, and Priyanshu, it felt like we created enough stories to talk about for years.
